Commercial sidewalk snow removal

Entrances, walkways, and accessible routes cleared and treated, so the path from car door to front door is safe and you can show when it was done.

Where winter claims start

Winter injury claims tend to start at entrances and walkways, not in the middle of the lot. A well-plowed lot with an icy front walk is still a liability, which is why sidewalk clearing is contracted alongside lot plowing and entrances get specific attention on every visit.

What gets cleared

The walks that are covered are listed in your contract, so nothing gets decided at 5 a.m.

Cleared, then treated

Clearing moves the snow; treatment keeps the thin layer left behind from bonding into ice. Walks are treated after clearing, with de-icer applied at rates matched to the surface and the temperature. Too much damages concrete over time, and too little leaves a glaze.

Refreeze watch

Walks are where refreeze does the most damage. Meltwater from a roof or a snow pile crosses a shaded walk in the afternoon and turns to ice by evening. Downspout outlets, shaded corners, and low spots near entrances get flagged at onboarding and checked for refreeze, so they are treated before someone finds them. More on refreeze and ice management.

Timed to your opening

Walks are cleared on the same route schedule as your lot, built around when your doors open, so staff and the first customers or patients arrive to a clear path.

Documented for your file

Every visit is logged with a timestamp: what was done, when, and in what conditions. If someone says they slipped at your entrance, the record shows when the walk was cleared and treated.

Walks and lot, one contract. Sidewalk clearing is contracted alongside parking lot snow plowing, and ice problems are handled by salting and de-icing. See all services.

Sidewalk snow removal questions

Are accessible routes and curb ramps included?

Yes. Accessible routes get specific attention along with entrances, and the walks covered by your contract are listed in writing.

What do you put down on sidewalks?

De-icer applied after clearing, at rates matched to the surface and the temperature. The amount matters: too much damages concrete over time, and too little leaves ice.

How would I prove the walks were treated?

Every visit is logged with a timestamp, including when the walks were cleared and treated, so you have a written record if a claim ever comes up.
